13. Immanuel’s sacrifice and the change of the priesthood

People emphasize the significance of family connections by saying, “Blood is thicker than water.” God also emphasized blood in the Old Testament saying, “Blood is life.” Jesus said, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:54). Why is our Christ Jesus’ blood so valuable and why does he ask us drink his blood? Let's talk about it.

God and a human being can be one, a body and a spirit can be one. The connection between the Virgin Mary and invisible spiritual God was God’s masterpiece. As the Creator of the world, God infused his spirit into the body of Mary.

These are the steps that brought Jesus into this world.

When the Lord God created humanity, he formed man from dust and breathed life into his nostrils, and man became a living being, as described in the Bible. When the Lord God takes a living being, he just takes back his breath of life so that only dust remains. Therefore, God said, “Because you were taken from dust, you will return to it” (Gen. 3:19).

God took the Virgin Mary - not dust, but a human being - and blessed her with his grace. The power of God was completely with her. The living being made in that way was called ‘Immanuel’ in the Bible (Is. 7:14). ‘Immanuel’ literally means ‘God with us,’ which we can interpret as that the spirit of God can be with a human being who has a body (Matt. 1:23).

Immanuel is required to connect the spirit of God with humanity, and to connect the human body with God. Therefore, Immanuel plays a role as mediator between God and humanity. The Messiah was born to be this mediator.
