discussed in Revelations, not explained in detail, because it is about the war between God and Satan.

David wrote: “The LORD (Jehovah) says to my Lord (Jesus): ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’” (Ps. 110:1).

Now let us look at this more closely. When God prophesied the birth of Jesus, who born after David, he mentioned certain enemies. God said that he would let his Son sit at his right hand until he would make the enemies a footstool for his feet.

As God said, Jesus became eligible to sit at God’s right hand. Stephen witnessed it when he explained about Jesus to the Hebrews. He said, “Look, I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God” (Acts 7:55-56). And then he was stoned to death because of it.

God said to David that the Christ who would sit at his right hand would become the high priest in the order of Melchizedek, but he had enemies. The throne, upon which the Christ has sat after he was crucified on the cross, was designated for the high priest in the order of Melchizedek. David recorded, “The LORD has sworn and will not change his

mind: ‘You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek’” (Ps. 110:4).

Jesus’ enemies are not easy to defeat. They have great power. The Christ must reign at the right hand of God as the high priest in the order of Melchizedek until God has put all his enemies under his feet.

A king has all the authority in his nation. When God named the Christ as the high priest in the order of Melchizedek, he gave Jesus the authority of the King. Therefore the Christ obtained all the authorities of God in heaven. He must rule it until he has put all his enemies under his feet, as Paul the apostle witnessed (1Cor. 15:25).

Our Lord Jesus is the Son of God who is almighty, but he has enemies. Jesus said the enemy is the Devil (Matt. 13:39). If our Lord still sits at the right hand of God, it indicates the Devil is not under his feet yet. The Devil must be under his feet for God to rule all. After that, God will give rewards or punishment to us. As long as the Devil is at work, there is no kingdom of heaven and hell.
