life. Jesus said, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:54). He did not mean that in the literal sense, but they were the symbolic meaning of this blessing.

Because the fountain of living water was made by Jesus’ sacrifice and God’s work, Revelations describes the water flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Rev. 22:1).

Jesus thought when he was in this world that he could give the living water to people and complete the work of God immediately after he was crucified and went back to heaven. Therefore, he said, “This generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Matt. 24:34). But after he received and opened the book sealed with seven seals from God, he learned God’s plan that the two Olive Trees were expected to do his will with the inheritance of the spring of living water (Zech. 4:12, 14:8; Rev.21:6-7). The two Olive Trees were already prophesied by Zechariah, even Jesus did not know about their task back then. It was the secret of God.

the Overcomers, so that he could set them as the two Olive Trees. The promises for these Overcomers were recorded in Revelations chapter 2 and 3. Jesus calls the two Olive Trees as his two witnesses (Rev. 11:3-4). The two Olive Trees are supposed to witness Jesus, not had been in this world but being in the spiritual world after crucifixion. Therefore, without their witness, how can anyone know what Jesus wants to do? God gave the spring of the water of life to the Overcomer as an inheritance and the task to complete the remaining number of the armies in heaven (Rev. 21:6-7, 3:12).

Jacob and the Overcomer

Jacob was the shadow of the Overcomer. Jacob received the name of Israel after he had struggled with an angel and had overcome it on the bank of the Jabbok River (Gen. 32:28). God also called him again and named him Israel (Gen. 35:10).

Jacob had twelve sons whose names became the twelve tribes in Israel according to the will of God. As Jacob was the head of the twelve tribes of Israel, the Overcomer is supposed to complete the twelve tribes in spiritual Israel, the
