The Olive Tree
Two Olive Trees as those who would inherit the water of life and carry out God’s Providence.
God prophesied the Olive Trees in the Old Testament as “the two who are anointed to serve the Lord of all the earth” (Zechariah 4:14) and in the New Testament’s Revelation as “my(Jesus) two witnesses” (Revelation 11:3). God established Jacob, Moses and Elijah, two people He showed to Daniel, and Joshua and Zerubbabel in the Old Testament as a foreshadowing of the Overcomer.
Jacob
Jacob was the first of them. Jacob, the son of Isaac, had 12 sons and formed 12 tribes of Israel. In other words, since Isaac is Jesus’ foreshadow, it shows God’s army, which is a representation of the spiritual Twelve Tribes of Israel, to be completed by the Olive Tree as Jesus’ successor.
Moses and Elijah
Moses and Elijah also represent the Olive Tree. Moses performed miracles by turning water into blood (Exodus 7:20), and Elijah closed the sky so that there was no rain (1Kings 17:1). The Olive Trees are to perform similar miracles (Revelation 11:6). After reading these verses in Revelation, some argue that Moses and Elijah were the Olive Trees, but since the prophecy of these miracles was given through John the Apostle, the Olive Trees are the ones to come after the prophecy. Thus, Moses and Elijah are not the Olive Trees; only their works represent the roles of the Olive Trees.
The Overcomer’s ability to turn water into blood and stop the rain is not a physical one. The blood represents Jesus’ blood, so the water turning into blood is equivalent to putting Jesus’ blood, the water of life, in the water. The rain also represents blessing through the water of life, so stopping the rain signifies that there will be no blessing without the Overcomer.
Two Men in the Book of Daniel
The Book of Daniel also contains a prophecy of the Olive Trees. There was a man (Jesus) on top of the river, with two men on both sides (the Two Olive Trees), and one of the men asked Jesus about the final days (Daniel 12:5-6). The man on top of the river responded that it will be a time, times and half a time, and when the power of the holy people has been lastly broken, all these things will be completed. (Daniel 12:7) The Overcomer is to prophesize for 1,260 days, (Revelation 11:3-4) which is equivalent to three and a half years, 42 months, and a time, times, and half a time. Thus, of the two Olive Trees, the one who will complete will be taught by Jesus and is planned to prophesize for 1,260 days.
Joshua and Zerubbabel
God prophesied with the name “Olive Tree” for the first time during Zechariah’s time. In Zechariah’s vision, the angel showed Joshua the high priest and Zerubbabel the governor to show the two Olive Trees’ work in the future. Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes. (Zechariah 3:3) God made angels take off his filthy clothes and put rich garments on. This represents how his sins have been washed away (Zechariah 3:4). Before Jesus was crucified, sin could not be perfectly washed away. (Hebrews 7:11) If sacrifices in the Old Testament could wash away all sins, God’s son did not need to be sacrificed. Thus, completely washing away Joshua’s sins show that someone will come after Jesus. He is the Olive Tree.
Joshua, that is the Olive Tree, is to produce Gold’s soldiers, mentioned as his associates. (Zechariah 3:8) This is only possible if the branch (Jesus) comes before. (Zechariah 3:8) The Lord showed Joshua a stone with seven eyes, (Zechariah 3:9) and this is a prophesy of Jesus, who will receive seven spirits of God. (Revelation 5:6) That is, Jesus first needs to be crucified, ascended to Heaven and recieve the seven spirits of God before he can wash away sins. It is Joshua (the Olive Tree) who will lead when the Lord can wash away all sins at once. (Zechariah 3:9) That is, Joshua’s mission is to wash away people’s sins and produce those who will stand in front of the Lord. When Joshua completes his work, he will receive his authority to reign over all of God’s Kingdom. (Zechariah 3:7)
After Zerubbabel, the governor returned from being held as a captive, he rebuilt God’s Temple, and God showed how his work was equivalent to the Overcomer’s completion of the New Jerasalem. (representative of 144,000 wives of the Lamb. Revelation 21:9-10) Zerubbabel turned hills into level ground and built the Temple on top, (Zerubbabel 4:7) and the hills represent sin and the temple represents holy people. That is, the Olive Tree washes away people’s sins to make them righteous. Zerubbabel set a capstone for the construction, (Zechariah 4:7) and this capstone represents God’s son, Jesus. (Matthew 21:42) That is, when Jesus completes the spring of the water of life that washes away sins, he becomes the Temple’s foundation, and when Zerubbabel (the Olive Tree) washes away sins with the water of life and makes them righteous, the Temple is complete.
In summary, the Overcomer’s role is to inherit Jesus’ blood to wash believers’ sins to produce soldiers of Heaven and complete God’s army.
