The Soldiers of Heaven
God has been working since the creation of the world to form an army to fight against the Devil. (John 5:17, 1John 3:8) In the Old Testament, God recorded the list of soldiers in His book. (Exodus 32:32, Malachi 3:16) However, He could not take them because no means could wash their sins away. He sent his son Jesus to earth to become a sacrificial offering. Jesus called himself the “way.” (John 14:6) Jesus meant that he was the way to God, and he opened up the way to God by becoming an offering on the cross.
In the Old Testament, prophets and saints were taken to the Devil’s world, Hades. After Jesus was crucified, he made the path and took them to God’s world. Matthew saw this in his vision and recorded it. Matthew said the tombs opened and the bodies of the many holy people who had died were raised to life, came out of the tombs, and entered the holy city. (Matthew 27:52-53) Jesus was praised for purchasing men for God with his blood. (Revelation 20:5) After Jesus, unlike the Old Testament, those who qualify for the first resurrection will be taken not to Hades, but to God’s world.
They remain under the altar in God’s world. (Revelation 6:9) When they asked Jesus when they would be compensated for their injustice in martyr, Jesus told them to “wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were killed as they had been was fulfilled.” (Revelation 6:11) This number is 144,000. (Revelation 14:1) When the number is filled, Jesus will return and avenge them. The reason they have not been avenged is because the number has not been filled.
They have the Lamb’s name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads (Revelation 14:1): the ones with God’s name were chosen by God in the Old Testament, and the ones with the Lamb’s name were chosen by Jesus in the New Testament. When God recorded their names, the book was called, “a scroll of remembrance” (Malachi 3:16), and Jesus has since inherited the book and recorded the list of soldiers in the book now called, “the book of life belonging to the Lamb.” (Revelation 13:8)
In the final days, the Overcomer is responsible for putting a seal. The angel with God’s seal works with the Overcomer to fill the 144,000.(Revelation 7:3) 12,000 from each Tribe in Israel, 144,000 from 12 Tribes, are sealed (Revelation 7:4), and Israel refers to God’s army, the spiritual Israel, not the country in this world. It can be seen that those saved by Jesus’ blood are not from one tribe, but from every tribe. (Revelation 5:9)
They are the called, chosen and faithful followers. (Revelation 17:14) They are also those who did not defile themselves with sin. (Revelation 14:4)
